No Place Like Home - 20th Anniversary

$200.00

Linocut

This linocut is a remake of my original digital print, No Place Like Home (2006), and marks the 20th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The original, a piece from my senior art exhibition at Xavier University of Louisiana, depicts a young Black girl standing in front of a damaged home in the Lower-9th ward. Like Dorothy in Oz, she reckons with her fate post-Katrina, lost in a familiar place and understanding that coming/being home will never be the same.

Size: 12.5” x 10”

Medium: linocut

Edition: 10 with 8 available

This is a limited edition linocut, printed with black oil-based ink on BFK Rives paper.
